The ivory-billed woodpecker was thought to be extinct.
Until very recently
Books sometimes go missing as well
Especially books from one's childhood.
I'd be glad to look around for your lost woodpecker.
What I would need from you is a name or a title: the name of the illustrator or the author. If not the actual title, then an approximation. Even an approximate date of publication is useful. Rarely – very rarely – I am able to find a book simply from a description of characters, setting or story line. In fact, only if I have read it. I'm always willing to try, however. Don't be shy about asking.
Also, as you will have noticed, this site is a little odd. We organize by Illustrator rather than author (in most cases but not all). If you can't find a book because you don't know the illustrator, tell us its title and/or author and we wll let you know if it is hiding somewhwere on our site.
