Yvonne Gilbert, a British illustrator, works exclusively with colored pencils and has achieved remarkable effects in this difficult medium. A mastery of her art has enabled Ms. Gilbert to draw the many fine details of her dragons, fairies, animals and folklore costumes with the delicacy and exquisite shading of color that makes her work so distinctive. In addition to her book and other illustrative work, Ms. Gilbert has been honored by being selected by the British Philatelic Bureau to design three sets of stamps for Great Britain, two of these being coveted commissions for England's Christmas stamps of 1984 and 1994.
